Smoky Mountain Adventure Rentals

FAQ

  • Where can I drive the UTV’s?

All of our vehicles are street legal, so you can ride on the parkway or take a scenic drive on many of the beautiful country roads, and all throughout The Smoky Mountain National Forest. We will supply you with a list of places to go see and explore as well as a map of Cades Cove. Our machines are not allowed off-roading.

  • How old do you have to be?

21+ for all UTV's except for the Can-Am X3 Turbo RR, you must be 25+ and 25+ for Jeep rentals.

  • Do I need a reservation for the UTV?

We accept walk-ins, but we highly recommend a reservation, especially during the busy tourist season. Booking online only takes a few minutes and will guarantee you a UTV

  • Are pets allowed?

Here at SMAR, we LOVE our fur babies so pets are definitely allowed, but you are

responsible for your vehicle during your rental. We recommend bringing a blanket or

two to prevent any damage to the interior of the vehicles.

  • Are all vehicles automatic?

Yes, all of our vehicles are automatic.

  • Where can I park my personal vehicle?

Your vehicle will be safe and secure parked here at our location

  • Is there a deposit?

Not upfront but we take a copy of your credit card in case damage occurs.

  • Do you have a rain policy if I cancel due to the weather?

We do allow you to reschedule due to rain at our discretion, as long as we have

availability or we will give you a raincheck that is redeemable for one year

  • What is your cancellation policy?

Customers will receive a full refund with 72 hours’ notice of cancellation. There are no refunds for early returns.

Insurance FAQ

  • DO I HAVE TO PURCHASE THE INSURANCE?

Yes, the $20 insurance addendum is required. Please note that this fee allows you to be on our insurance policy. If a unit is wrecked/totaled/flipped, $5,000 will be automatically pulled from your credit card/debit card. There is also a $500 a day loss of rental charge if a unit is found to be unsafe for other customer use. This loss of rental charge can accumulate depending on the availability of parts to correct the problem that occurred due to negligence. Damage is assessed on a per-unit basis and will vary up to the severity of the damage and the unit(s) state of use.

  • WILL MY AUTOMOBILE INSURANCE COVER ME WHILE RENTING A UTV OR VANDERHALL?

More than likely NO it will not. Some of the other companies in the area will say your automobile insurance will cover you but this is NOT the case most of the time. Whether you rent from us or another company, please make sure you are insured. Not only does it leave you at great financial risk, but it is also illegal to drive without insurance. If you rent from us we have insurance that will cover you. If you have any questions please call us for more information.

  • HOW MUCH IS THE DEDUCTIBLE ON THE INSURANCE?

The deductible if you wreck or damage the vehicle is up to $5,000. Please note that the deductible is the amount of money that the insured (customer) MUST pay before our insurance company will pay the claim.

  • WHAT IF THE DAMAGE DOES NOT COST $5,000 AND CAN BE FIXED FOR LESS THAN THAT?

You will only be charged for the amount of the damage and labor cost to fix the damage. We understand that it was an accident and we are an honest company that treats our guests like family.

  • DOES THE $5,000 DEDUCTIBLE GET CHARGED TO MY CREDIT/DEBIT CARD OR DOES A “HOLD” FOR THAT AMOUNT APPEAR ON MY CARD?

No, this only happens in the event the vehicle is wrecked or damaged.
